Heights and Hills Virtual 5K Run-Walk

Heights and Hills Virtual 5K Run-Walk -
Heights and Hills

About Heights and Hills 5K Run/Walk

We're going Virtual!

Due to the Corona Virus outbreak, our 5K (more or less) is now virtual. That means you can participate within your own environs, even in doors if you wish, and ask your friends and family to do the same. Hey, you can even celebrate together at a Zoom finish line if you wish.

Heights and Hills was born
out of a strong sense of community responsibility in 1971.

We have always been pioneers in developing programs and services to support older Brooklynites covering 1/3 of the borough.
Today, we are one of the largest Brooklyn nonprofit organizations serving more than 5,000 older adults and their families with a variety of essential services including:
  • Social services for homebound older adults
  • Caregiver support for families and friends
  • Volunteer and intergenerational programs that engage the larger community
  • The Park Slope Center for Successful Aging, a neighborhood hub for active older adults
The population of NYC older adults is growing. Your participation will help raise funds in support of those who are often invisible, isolated and frequently ignored, so they age successfully and with dignity in our community. Every dollar raised has a big impact. Thank you for your support!

Heights and Hills Needs Your Support

During this pandemic our top priority is to make sure Brooklyn’s older neighbors continue to receive the services they need to stay healthy, safe and connected.  COVID-19 disproportionately affects low income neighborhoods which adds another layer of vulnerability for our clients, many of whom have underlying medical conditions, to develop COVID-19.

This is why we need your support more than ever.

Heights and Hills staff are doing the following to help our clients stay healthy and combat isolation

  • All case management clients, caregivers and Park Slope Center members are receiving regular check-in calls to monitor their health and respond to emergency needs such as food and supplies.
  • Caregiver programming for support groups and workshops have resumed on Zoom
  • Park Slope Center members can participate in Zoom classes for Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Meditation. More classes will be added in the coming weeks.
  • Volunteers are delivering food and making check-in calls to our waitlist clients.
